Well, (at the risk of sounding like an idiot) if they had a key wouldn't they just run off with the car? But I suppose it's also possible that they just stole the stuff inside instead of risking possible jail time if they were caught with the car.

Jort and co. - Thanks for thinking of me when you saw that article, guys! I have to admit I don't feel like tackling anything that tricky with my camera at the moment, but I appreciate it all the same. ;)

Ryan - No, like Rachel said, I think they must have a shaved key that they are using, because the door was just unlocked and open, not broken.

Jared - Please do! I would appreciate it. Or just go knocking on doors around my neighborhood and track down whoever did it. :-p

Rachel - You've told me that story before. *sigh * Do you think getting my locks changed would help? (Oh, thanks for commenting, btw. I'm glad you finally did. ;))

Hey Erin,
Sorry about your car again. I was looking on the top ten most stolen cars in the US (and Oregon), and unfortunately, yours is one of them.... I know, depressing. During my brief working adventure at Old Navy, there were cars stolen every DAY from that parking lot (mostly employee cars, of course). Any way, the cops told one of the girls that the fiends had shorn off keys that worked in every lock. For example, they would have a shorn off key for all 2000 Honda Civics...

Okay, sorry, I'm kind of rambling. I just thought it was interesting. Hope you have a fantastic day with your new camera! I'm so excited for you.

Ian - No, silly, that would be too smart of a thing to do. I could never have done that. (And thanks for your confidence in my future photos; I hope it is well placed!)

Ryan - Yes, I do always lock my doors. That just doesn't seem to stop these people. :-p

Vu - Hehehe. :)
