… That is the sound that disturbed the slumber of many a Gutenberg student (and no doubt a few people in the southern hemisphere) last night when I, at approximately 10:30 pm, discovered that my blog was a finalist for Best Teen Weblog in the 2007 Bloggies.
A. FINALIST. FOR. BEST. TEEN. WEBLOG.
To the people who nominated Lylium.org, and the people who have already emailed me to let me know that they decided to vote for it: Thank you, friends. You have no idea how much joy it brings me to know that enough people have enjoyed this blog to get it nominated in the Bloggies. I appreciate your support more than you know.
To every single person who is reading this post: GO VOTE. And I don’t necessarily mean you have to vote for ME… I highly encourage you to check out all the other finalists, as there is apparently some serious teen talent on the net.
But at the very least, vote for SOMEONE!
Good luck everyone… and thank you again for the honour.

Dear Erin, for what it’s worth, I think you should have won. I didn’t see your blog until yesterday (June 17, 2007) so I couldn’t vote for it. But I went to http://2007.bloggies.com/ and checked out the other nominees. In my opinion yours is so far superior to the others both in content and design that it makes one wonder about the voters. Probably they were teenagers (speaking as somebody who has grandchildren older than you are). I’m not a blogger but I recognize good design and good writing. I was especially entertained by the entries on your MacBook. I just bought one for my wife and plan to get one for myself the next time I visit the US (I live in Tbilisi, Georgia — one of the “newly independent states” formerly part of the Soviet Union. I hope your Mac is being good to you now.
I happened on your blog as a result of doing a Google search on Gutenberg College, which I am interested in because I am founding a new Great Books liberal arts college in Georgia that may resemble Gutenberg College in some ways, so I was interested in learning more about Gutenberg. I will probably write you privately about that and maybe ask you to introduce me to your father.
Thanks again for sharing yourself.

I found your site by a fluke but really enjoyed it. Me and my fiancee say EEEEEEEE to each other all the time when we are smiling
or very happy. We know it’s corny but we do it just because. We got this from my 2 yr old nephew (Zane) because we would tell him to say cheese when we were taking a picture to get him to smile and he would always say EEEEEEEEEE…. Too cute. I did go to your site and it is very beautiful. Very nice pics taken.

I can’t be bothered with anything recently. I’ve just been sitting around doing nothing. Today was a loss. I just don’t have much to say. Nothing seems worth thinking about.
